Coordinating colors for your family portrait

What should we wear? It is the most common question I get when families book their session with me.  Or, should we just wear white?  The most important thing is that a family coordinate their clothing and represent who they are.  Are they more playful and casual?  Do they want a more formal look, or just be right in between.  Be YOU!   I believe the portraits look more beautiful when the clothing is coordinated, not just all matchy, matchy and that the clothing style matches (casual summer vs. some in nicer dresses and ties, while others in shorts).  Below is a family I photographed this summer that did an excellent job coordinating.  I think they look amazing!

Tween - such a special time for a kid!

Tweens, that awkward age between 9 and 13 and the age least photographed professionally.  Actually, I was just reading an article that families often don't get their pictures professionally taken when their kids are between the ages of 5 and 15.  What a huge time of change and adventure for these kids and families.  I have recently worked with some GREAT kids in this age bracket and it has really impacted me on how fun and unique these sessions are.  Don't forget to capture this unique time in your kids lives. 

Its July 31st and this summer has been fun, but fast.  Sessions are still available in September and October.  October is already booking, so if you would like to schedule your high school senior, kids or family, please email or call soon so you get your pick of dates.

Time Flies!

What an amazing year it has been!  One year ago today, I opened the studio in Old Village, Plymouth and it only seems like last week.  I have met so many amazing families through out the last several years and feel so very blessed to have been included in your special moments.  From maternity all the way through celebrated anniversaries it has been a true privilege.  I can't thank all of my clients, friends and family for the support shown to me.  I am having a blast and can't wait to see many of you again and meet new families.

The fall season is upon us...

September is here and the cool weather is just ahead of us.  Although I love summer, fall is my favorite time of year.  Beautiful leaves, cooler weather, cider mills, hoodies, etc.  It has been an incredible summer meeting so many great families and high school seniors. 

Fall is bringing another full calendar of great families and seniors - I can't wait!.  If you are considering a fall session, please contact me soon as September is fully booked with only the last 2 weeks of October available and there are limited dates in November to choose from.

Just finished photographing my senior reps for the Class of 2013.  What a great group!  So much fun.   Now scheduling senior sessions through the end of the year.  Keep in mind most yearbook deadlines are September 30th and October 30th for the local schools.  All sessions include in studio yearbook pictures and up to 2 locations of your choice.

The Studio Is Open!!

The paint has dried, but still finishing all the final details for our new studio in Old Village - Plymouth.  Our official grand opening is May 1st, but wanted to open our doors a little sooner. Therefore, we are offering a pre-grand opening special.
 
Book an in-studio session at a discounted fee of $30 between now and April 30th and receive a free 8 x 10 with your print order.

Class of 2012 Seniors

The summer high school senior season is coming to an end with yearbook deadlines fast approaching.  It has been a great summer meeting so many great teens.   Below is a sneak peak into one of the sessions.

Daddy's Little Girl

Congratulations to D & C on the birth of their first baby. This little girl is super cute and proved to be quite the little model. I love photographing newborns before they are 2 weeks old. Once asleep, I can pose them and really get some great images for mom and dad to cherish.

Precious Little Princess

11 day old little princess.   Moms and Dads don't wait to photograph your newborns.  They change so much and you don't want to forget those precious first few weeks.  Capture every moment.

Super Cute 3 year old!!

Forecast called for a sunny morning in October, but true to Michigan weather, it rained. We made the best of it and this little girl made it fun.   Nothing but smiles.

Winter Fun!!

It was a beautiful, sunny winter day, so I took the boys out to a local park for some winter pictures. The snow was perfect - untouched and fluffy!

This family session was so much fun.  It was a beautiful fall evening and the boys played in the leaves, climbed rocks and ran around the trees.

What a wonderful year 2010 was.   I am very thankful to have been a part of so many or your lives this year.  I had fun getting to know your families and look forward to capturing many new memories in 2011.  In the coming weeks and months I will be posting sneak peaks from some of the sessions from 2010.

Time is flying
